We would like to thank the gnomes for reserving a space for a disabled guest. Above and beyond gnomies, above and beyond :-)

We would like to thank everyone who supported our Spring Goodwill Quiz on Saturday 29th March. The attendance was great coupled with an amazing atmosphere which resulted in a fun evening. This is an early reminder to put the date for our Autumn Quiz in your diaries for Saturday 25th October in the Memorial Hall, 7pm for 7.30pm start. It was so lovely to host our senior citizens from the four villages at our Afternoon Tea Party in April. The entertainment provided by Sandy Ukulele Group was excellent and greatly enjoyed. A huge thank you to everyone who helped set up, helped in preparing and serving the food and to everyone who baked and donated all the delicious scones and cakes. What a spread it was. A special thank you goes to our super helpers in the kitchen and to our young helpers Molly, Florence, Imogen, Jessica, Lottie, Daisy and Emillia who all worked tirelessly to keep the tea and cakes topped up. Thank you so much to Neil and Helen Pinnington for all their hard work and for once again lending us their beautiful tea services, bunting and lamps which always creates a 21 lovely touch to the whole proceedings. Daisy and Emillia were invited to help the ukulele group by joining in playing and singing a song with them, which was lovely. By the time you read this we will have embarked on our first try at holding a Big Breakfast on the VE day celebration weekend which hopefully many of you supported and enjoyed. We have already started our preparations for The Village Fete which this year will be on September 6th in the field behind The Chequers and we look forward to seeing you all there. Please give some thought, if as a friend you could offer some help at this year’s Fete (be it setting up, clearing away or helping on one of the stalls. We have a small committee who work hard organising events and we are so grateful for any offers of help from friends to run our events. We work tirelessly throughout the year making it possible for us to support the welfare of the four villages. The Ambulance Service which runs in Wrestlingworth, Cockayne Hatley, Tadlow and Eyeworth is there for you to use. If you are in need of help to get to the surgery or to the hospital for an appointment please contact our coordinator Margaret Pantry whose details are in the Handy Phone Numbers page in the back of this magazine. Also we are always keen to hear from any new volunteer drivers. If you know of any new babies, new arrivals moving into the village, people who have been in hospital or anyone who requires Goodwill support in any way please let us know. Please contact info@wrestlingworthgoodwillfund.org.uk or ring Geoffrey on 07720 805620 if you think you could help in any way. Thank you for your support
