Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year for the
Wrestlingworth Goodwill Committee and friends. December 13th and
14th saw Father Christmas arriving in his sleigh, with his trusty
reindeer. Supported by The Goodwill, he visited senior citizens in
Cockayne Hatley, Eyeworth, Tadlow and Wrestlingworth to give them
gifts. This year, due to the generosity of everyone who supported the
fete and raffle, we were able to give each pensioner household £20 to
help towards their heating costs. Father Christmas also welcomed
children who came out to see him with a selection box (obviously
checking his list first to see who had been good). Father Christmas was
overjoyed with the number of four-legged friends who sat in the sleigh
with him and has made a note to bring a few dog treats next year. A
huge thank you to all our helpers but particularly to our younger ones -
Imogen, Erin, Betsy, Martha and Jessica.
As always Father Christmas relies on an up to date list of our senior
citizens - so if you are over 65 and would like to be included on his list
or you know of anyone who would like to be removed, please contact
Geoffrey on 07720805620.
The Wrestlingworth Goodwill AGM will be held on Thursday 13th
February at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall. EVERYONE is welcome to
come along and find out what we do and to find out if you can help as
a committee member or as a friend. Our current committee is very
small and it would help to be able to spread the load and also to get
fresh ideas through welcoming new committee members. Without the
help of friends many events would not take place.
Spring Quiz: Our quiz will be held on Saturday 29th March 7pm for
7.30pm start in The Memorial Hall. Everyone is welcome at a cost of
£5 per person and we asked that you pre-register your team with a £5
deposit at the email address below. Teams of up to 8 - or you can
come on the day and help make up a team. A great opportunity to dust
off the brain cells at what is always a fun event. Bring your own drink
