We would like to thank everyone who helped in any way towards the great success of our Village Fete on 7th September. It requires a huge effort to put on an event like that, coupled with selling raffle tickets throughout the four villages pre-fete. We have a very tiny committee so we relied greatly on help from a few of our amazing “Family Members” and “Friends of Goodwill”. We couldn’t have done it without them.

We were blessed with good weather and the field took on a busy and congenial atmosphere with everyone enjoying both the variety of visiting stalls and village run stalls. Our Dog Show was well supported with some beautiful and clever dogs. The Variety Express gave us a pre-view performance of their Scary Halloween Tale. The inaugural tug of war was enjoyed by spectators and competitors alike with the under 12 category having some stiff competition between 4 teams with “Team Everest” Alfie, Charlie, Maximillian and Ivy being the eventual winners. A massive thank you to everyone who baked and donated the most amazingly tasty array of cakes for the tea stall – everything disappeared and we were overwhelmed with the donations of raffle prizes from both friends and local businesses.

Hope to see you all next year.

Don’t forget our Autumn Quiz on Saturday 19th October in the Memorial hall, 7pm for 7.30pm start with teams of 8- always a fun evening with everyone welcome. You can register a team at our info address below or just come along and make up a team

Please give some thought, if as a friend you could offer some help at next year’s Fete (be it setting up, clearing away or helping on one of the stalls) or on the Santa Run. Also we would happily welcome you to the committee who work tirelessly to support the welfare of the four villages.

Please contact info@wrestlingworthgoodwillfund.org.uk or ring Geoffrey on 07720 805620 if you think you could help in any way. Thank you.

Please make use of The Ambulance Service which runs in Wrestlingworth, Cockayne Hatley, Tadlow and Eyeworth. If you are in need of help to get to the surgery or to the hospital for an appointment please contact our coordinator Margaret Pantry whose details are in the 22 Handy Phone Numbers page in the back of this magazine. Also we are always keen to hear from new volunteer drivers.

We are here to support the welfare of the villages - so if you know of any new babies, new arrivals moving into the village, people who have been in hospital or anyone who requires Goodwill support in any way, please let us know.

Santa is dusting off his sleigh so if you have become a pensioner this year please let us know so we can add you to our list for Christmas and the Tea Party. If you or anyone you know no longer require a Christmas parcel please let us know.

Thank you for your support
