Well that was an hour very well spent attending the MAGPAS (Mid Anglia General Practitioner Ambulance Service) CPR and defibrillator community training session with Alison which was held at Eyeworth Village Hall.
Alison explained the importance of knowing and having the confidence to recognise when, how or indeed if to commence CPR or to use the defibrillator. There were a lot of questions and then we moved on to using the dummies that could recognise if you were doing compressions correctly, and a defibrillator that talked you through what to do.
If you are ever faced with a person in cardiac arrest this course will help you to help them and maybe save a life.
The Wrestlingworth Goodwill Fund led by Wendy Baker have supported and organised these courses and there is another one booked for next Saturday at Cockayne Hatley Church at 10.00.
These courses are free to attend and we still have spaces for next Saturday and hope to hold another one in Wrestlingworth Memorial Hall in the New Year.
Please book your free slot with Wendy
at wendy@wrestlingworthgoodwillfund.org.uk (booking is essential).
Many thanks to Eyeworth Village hall for providing the hall for free today.
It would be good to see as many of you as possible on these courses, particularly younger members of our communities.
Magpas is also available to talk to schools and youth groups such as Brownies, Cubs, Guides and Scouts for free and they also run an Air
Ambulance and train first responders. It is a charity that is well worth supporting
Can you spare an hour out of your life to make a difference to someone else's chance at life?
Thanks to all who attended today.
