2025 AGM and Roundup
The Wrestlingworth Goodwill AGM will be held on Thursday 12th
February in the Memorial Hall from 7:30, if you’d like to learn more
about what Goodwill does, or join us either as a committee member or
as a Friend of Goodwill, please do come to the AGM.
In 2025 we:
• Provided over 100 “ambulance” service trips to doctors and
hospital appointments, predominately to Cambridge, Stevenage
and Bedford, but also as far away as North London. A huge
thanks to all the volunteer drivers for all their help delivering
this service throughout the year.
• Delivered 15 Goodwill Welfare gifts for residents returning from
hospital, celebrating the birth of a new baby, or with sympathy
following the loss of a resident.
• Donated to Eyeworth Village Hall to purchase a defibrillator.
• Made resource award and discretionary award grants to young
people starting out at college or university.
• Donated art and tombola prizes to Wrestlingworth Infant School.
• Hosted a Pensioners’ Tea Party for 60 residents and their guests.
• Ran a colouring competition at the Village Fete.
• Helped Santa deliver presents to all the pensioners and children
we met in our four villages.
Our principal fund-raising event was the summer fete and raffle in the
Chequers Field which was a huge success with great attendance and a
really good atmosphere. In addition, we ran two quizzes in March and
October, and restarted the Big Breakfast with two events, one on VE
day weekend, and one in November.
Our fund raising for the year totalled £6,012 and we donated and
incurred event and operational costs (such as public liability insurance
17
and lottery license) totaling £4,698. For more details of what we
raised and spent, do join us at the AGM!
Thank you to everyone who supported Goodwill throughout 2025.
